MIT Hockey Team 1977-1978

Back

After college I decided to attend business school and selected the Sloan School at MIT because they had a hockey club team that played a full schedule and graduate students could play. I may be the only person in history to select the Massachusetts Institute of Technology because they had a hockey club! While my business school colleagues studied Economics and Accounting I played another two years of hockey with over 80 games!

Our goalie, Paul Estey, received a masters in rocket engine design from MIT and then went on to earn a PHD from Stanford. He played four years in college, three at MIT and another four at Stanford. Ten years of college level hockey, all while becoming one of the world’s leading rocket engine designers!
